Pix is becoming one of the greatest and essential payment methods in Brazil's history. It is easy and fast to use and is loved by many Brazilians. Thinking of the best user experience for all stakeholders, the EBANX Design Team explains how to use the Pix brand in your websites and materials.
Understanding Pix concept
Pix is a new Brazilian electronic payment method. Created by the Brazilian Central Bank, it allows making any payment or transfer between accounts in a few seconds, without restrictions on the date and time to make them.
But for using Pix, the Brazilian Central Bank makes a few requirements about the branding use.
The Pix Brand
First of all, according to the Brazilian Central Bank, although the Pix logo is in lowercase letters, in all written texts, the first letter needs to be capitalized and the others lowercase. You can use the word Pix in all capital letters if all the text is also in this standard, and if you want to highlight the Pix, you can only do this in bold.
The Pix logo is composed of three elements, the symbol, the logo, and the message. Due to the diversity of platforms, systems, and equipment, and to ensure the best visual relationship, the Pix brand can be used in two ways: Only using the symbol or using the symbol + logo.
The Pix brand cannot be used with the logo alone.
When using the pix assets, you must be aware of the different sizes you can use them. The point here is to be sure everyone can read the brand well. If you want to use the logo with the message, the maximum reduction is 34mm or 240px. Otherwise, if you want to use the logo without the message, the maximum reduction is 20mm or 145px. And, if you want to use only the Pix symbol, the maximum reduction is 7mm or 24px. Be sure you don't forget the protection area, to help your clients and users better recognize the Pix brand.
The Pix Terminology
When using Pix, there's a couple of terms that can be used to reinforce the Pix brand.
Chave Pix. This first one means Pix Key. It can register as a key: cell phone number, e-mail, CPF, or CNPJ, and it is also possible to generate a random key if you do not wish to enter personal data.
Pix Copia e Cola. This one means Pix copy and paste and must be used every time you say about coping the Pix code for paying or transfer.
Correct brand usage
The universal Pix brand must be displayed at parity with the individual brands that represent each payment service provider (financial and payment institutions), in terms of color, size and location.
The logo can be used in versions with or without the message to identify Pix and it is allowed, on digital platforms, to use the Pix symbol as an icon.
Examples
The Full-color logo should be used on white and light photography backgrounds, the white logo should be used on dark colored backgrounds and the black logo should be used on light colored backgrounds.
Do not distort, rotate or change the elements in any way; do not use a background that does not have enough contrast with the brand; do not apply any effects to the logo.
